CEDRIC SIMONET - Chairman
|
Cedric Simonet PhD, DUG, EurGeol, Reg. Geol (K) is currently the Chairman of KCM and the Africa Region Manager of International Gold Exploration AB, and C.E.O of local subsidiary IGE Kenya Ltd. He has been working in geology and management in the mineral industry for the last 10 years. His professional experience encompasses a variety of minerals including gemstones, gold, base metals, fluorspar and bauxite.
At Rockland Kenya Ltd, Cedric Simonet was general manager of the John Saul Ruby Mine. He worked several years with Alcan as mine manager and senior geologist of SOGEREM’s fluorspar mines in France, and as Black Belt at the Gardanne alumina refinery in France.
He is also a Director of Kilimapesa Gold (Pty) Ltd and of Swensson & Simonet Minerals (K) Ltd.

CAPTAIN JOE GATHECHA -Deputy Chairman
|
|
Capt Joe Gathecha who is the current Deputy Chairman of KCM, has a wealth of management experience and entrepreneur spirit having started his early career as an Airline Pilot reaching the level of a Fleet Captain by the time he retired to commence his mining ventures.
He founded GATH MINERAL RESOURCES LIMITED in 1995 which has mining interest in Kenya viz Tsavorite concessions at Kapanga & Mkukii in Taita/ Taveta where GATH has done good exploration and now is negotiating JV Partnership with some foreign Investors to undertake large scale mining of Tsavorites, Garnets, Tourmalines etc.
We as GATH do also have a Sapphire concession in Kuranze in Kwale Coast Province waiting for some investors to go into some JV partnerships. Too, GATH has an interest in a large scale TANZANITE mining in Tanzania through partnership with Tanzanian partners being funded by IFC.

Joyce Misoi - Acting C.E.O / P.R.O
|
|
Joyce Misoi, the KCM Public Relations Officer and is the founder of the Canada-Kenya Chamber of Commerce among other organizations. She has been instrumental in clearing the pending issues in her roles as Project Coordinator, Investor Relations and Special Advisor on behalf of Tiomin Kenya Ltd.. She brings with her excellent networking and negotiation skills.
Joyce has also lived, studied and worked in Canada for over 20 years. She creates links between foreign investors and the Kenya business environment. She has a background in Business Administration, Investor Relations and computer programming.

Salome Mwangi - Company Secretary
|
Salome Mwangi is a jovial, optimistic, honest and proactive Christian lady who joined KCM in the year 2005 as the personal assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary of the Chamber. She has first hand experience in office administration, organizing Executive Council Meetings, Private Sector Meetings and other high level private-public meetings and all secretarial duties.
Due to her hard work and strong will, Ms Mwangi was promoted to Company Secretary after serving the chamber for one year. She has over eight years (8) of reputable experience in secretarial and marketing skills having worked at various companies before joining the KCM team. |
